New review: Doomwatch

I get a LOT of people asking me where this film is, and why I’ve never reviewed it.

So, worry no more, “a LOT of people”, here it is. The reason for the delay? Not a clue. I’ve had the DVD for at least 20 years, sitting there waiting for a proper (review-led) viewing. And I’ve just never done it. But all that procrastination ends NOW, goddammit.

Do YOU want an eco-tinged tale where “harmless” radioactive waste isn’t seen as the problem?

Do YOU want to watch a film where the “baddies” have misshapen, lumpy faces and attitude problems, and someone decided to confuse the issue by giving the job of hero to the lumpiest-faced actor in town, well-known for angry, shouty performances?

Do YOU like the idea of said leading man appearing in a variety of natty sailor’s hats (him being on an island and everything)?

Of course you do. Who wouldn’t?

Welcome to Doomwatch. Read the review here.
