New review: The Offence
Big moustaches! Sheepskin jackets! Those hats men used to wear! It’s the early 70s, and guess what – there’s a child murderer on the loose.
But this time we’re not going to see some pretty-boy killer pop up and get his just desserts (unless your definition of “pretty-boy” is very loose indeed). This is a proper film, with ideas and a big-name director and everything. Not to mention a James Bond.
The horror’s there, alright – but perhaps not where you’d expect it.
So let’s all think about how things might have gone if we were in the room at the time of this particular offence.
